About Georgette
I was born and grew up in The Highlands of Scotland. Surrounded by idyllic fields of green, full of frolicking fluffy white sheep. Skies of blue over hills of bonny purple heather with crystal clear rivers meandering through them as far as the eye could see. Oh yes, and immense amounts of isolated frustration! Yes, my surroundings were, on the surface, a perfect place to grow up. However, if you had any ideas which required certain shop bought items to fulfill them, then you had to learn a great deal of patience, as it could be a week or two before you would be near such a shop. Luckily I had a large collection of pencils and paper, oh, and plenty of time. Years later I continue to do the same thing. Nothing makes me happier than creating images of the most beautiful flora and fauna.
My Materials
I started off many years ago using graphite pencils and regular copy paper. Then I started to play with watercolours. (It’s amazing how long a small box of paints can last!) In Uni it was charcoal for the life drawing and marker pens for the graphic renderings. Now I get to use whatever I wish, so I use them all. Beautiful Fabre Castell coloured pencils and watercolour pencils, Windsor and Newton watercolour, acrylic and gouache paints, and as for paper, well lets just say I’ve moved on from copy paper from the printer!
